These multiple meetings have been extremely productive and as a result, the City and Police of Temecula are partnering with Wolf Creek on a beta program designed to reduce criminal activity.
The key term here is partnering. The residents of Wolf Creek need to be the eyes and ears for the Temecula Police. If you see anything that causes you to be suspicious and it is a non-emergency situation, you are urged to call “951-696-help ext 5”. The Temecula PD will send a unit to investigate. If you witness an emergency please call 911.
The City Manager’s office has created a custom designed Neighborhood Watch Sign that includes the above non-emergency number as well as the Temecula PD and Wolf Creek logos. The Crime Prevention officers did an analysis on pedestrian and vehicle traffic in Wolf Creek as well as an analysis of where our property crimes are occurring.
Based on that analysis, the new signs will be posted at all locations our current Neighborhood Watch Signs are located as well as key areas determined by crime prevention. The goal, increase the number of solid leads to the police department and reduce the number of property crimes.
To supplement this, the Temecula PD and Crime Prevention have offered to come to the community and teach concepts in reducing neighborhood crimes, inspections of exterior of homes if requested to provide a checklist of ideas to make your home less of a target. Please know that with advance notice, the Wolf Creek Community Room is available for these meetings.
Wolf Creek will continue to expand our Neighborhood Watch programs and assist with organizing and keeping active all our watch programs.
This is a Beta program and careful statistical analysis and continued modifications will occur to reduce criminal activity. If this program and its future modifications demonstrate a reduction in crime, the city will consider offering this program to other HOA’s in Temecula. Let’s all work together to make Wolf Creek and Temecula a safe and beautiful neighborhood.
