Budget-Friendly Ways to Spruce Up Your Outdoor Space

6/23/2016

Now that the warmer weather is here, I find myself sitting outside on my back patio at all times of the day. In the morning, I may drink coffee and skim magazines; in the afternoons, I often enjoy the outdoors while I work on my computer; at night after my daughter goes to bed, my husband and I play some gin rummy. This space is an extension of our home. I spend a lot of time there and enjoy it very much, but that doesn’t mean I want to break the bank while adding some special touches and design elements. Therefore, I came up with some DIY ideas to spruce up an outdoor space that are gentle on the pockets.
Improving your outdoor space essentially involves bringing your living room outside. You want it to be inviting, inspiring, and comfortable for you and your guests to have great conversation in a welcoming setting. Small changes, such as adding fresh flowers and potted plants, setting mood lighting, and incorporating accent pieces, can make a big difference in a small space like a patio, porch, or veranda.

6/21/2016

From the earliest of times, people have communed around the campfire, telling tales and sharing personal stories. Gathering around the fire brings us together, and a backyard fire pit is the perfect spot to kick back and relax.
Fire pits provide ambiance, warmth, light, and a place to gather and entertain. It’s no wonder that they are high on homeowners’ wish lists. Basking in the glow of a beautiful fire can be romantic – enough that you might just opt for a staycation to watch those sparks fly.

BBQ Update

6/16/2016

Hi everyone,

Our attempt at replacing the BBQ's has hit a snag as the original builder of the Community Center put in
"off" size BBQ's vs standard sizes. We checked to see if we could modify the BBQ tables to fit but unfortunately it would require major construction and considerable down time. The vendor has advised that all of the parts are available from the manufacturer of the current BBQ's and he can rebuild them to new condition. Since that will permit us to open the BBQ's sooner, the order to rebuild has been approved. Again, thank you for your understanding as we continue to strive to maintain the community center to like new.

Community Center Update

The spa will open on Friday. The bathroom electrical work has been rescheduled to Monday at 6am to assure they are open for the busy weekend. Next week ( time and date to be announced ) the gym will be closed for replacement of lighting and ceiling fans.

Thanks for your continued understanding.

Community Center Update

6/13/2016

Hi everyone, I wanted to share that the BBQ's have lived a full and active life and are being retired. New ones have been ordered and will be installed per the vendor contract.
Additionally, inspection of the BBQ area cement picnic tables and benches have lived a full life and new ones have been ordered for replacement.
Last, but certainly not least, interior remodeling will begin late this week or early next week. A temporary POD will be placed on our parking lot to store our files and furniture. A small temporary desk will remain in the Community Center Office until demolition of the flooring and lighting begins. At that time a temporary office will be placed; location to be announced. Right now the landscape in the front of the Community Center is being replaced with a drought tolerant theme that will greatly reduce our consumption of water. Many maintenance items are still happening and we thank you for your patience as we continue to upgrade the Community Center for everyone's enjoyment.

POOL OPEN FOR USE -- FRIDAY, JUNE 10TH!!!

6/9/2016

Wolf Creek Pool and Wader Pool open tomorrow (June 10th) for normal hours (8am to 9:45pm) seven days per week. Per the plaster manufacturer recommendations, the spa cannot be heated until June 17th at which time it too will open!

Please excuse our dust as we begin work on the interior of the building, creating upgrades and design modifications to better improve your experience at the Community Center.
