The original plan was to do this work before the Thanksgiving Holiday. As you know, the spa was experiencing issues with the nozzles as a result of gum being pushed into them. Once removed, it was determined they were beyond cleaning and new ones had to be special ordered.
With the nozzles out, our pool tech ran a stress/diagnostic test on the mechanical system and determined one of the ball valves on the spa 3” pipe to the filter was failing. These valves were in service for 15 years so we got our monies worth out of them. The limitation of this type of ball valve is it is not repairable. If it fails, you replace the entire valve. A better valve option is the Jayco single handle valves. The 3” valves are designed for commercial use and you can repair them with new parts. That too is a special order.
Unfortunately, between the increase in holiday packages, the Holiday and weather, the special orders were not delivered in the normal timely manner. I am pleased to share we have them today and replacement is underway today.
Our plan as of now is to replace the valves, new nozzles are already installed and then open the spa. Due to the recent and eminent rain, we cannot empty the spa until the soil below the spa is dry. Our intent is to re-open the spa as soon as possible and perform the acid bath in better weather.
The Wolf Creek Board apologizes for these delays. They were not in our control and just like our cars, mechanical parts fail at the worst time. I hope to have a update with hopefully good news later today.
