Hi everyone. After our pool party, the jets on the west side of the spa stopped working. We gave it a week or so to see if anything would free up. It didn't. So, last night Richard and I went out at 9pm to see if we could determine the cause and repair it. The cause was gum jammed into one of the nozzles which blocked air from the pumps. It was so hard that it could not be removed, but our pool tech was able to push it back into the supply line. While there, we also observed several pieces of gum stuck to the bottom of the spa and in the large pool as well. As an add'l update, the spa is starting to look a little green vs its normal blue. This is being caused by the large amount of chlorine now being pumped into the spa to counter act the increase in activity and likely urination in the spa by kids. Our pool tech has advised in the very near future that the spa will need to be drained and fresh water filled in order for the pool chemistry to be more efficient. This is a one day project and only the spa will be closed. The remainder of pools will be open. Our average chlorine consumption for all three pools has been a consistent 30 gallons per day. Now with the rule change permitting supervised children to use the spa, we are at 60+ gallons per day. The Wolf Creek Board wants everyone to have a great time using the facilities and we want to keep the pool safe to avoid illness. I would encourage everyone to discard their gum in a trash container prior to entering any of the pools. Parents, please keep track of your children's bathroom needs as warm water increases the urge to urinate. Together we can maintain a healthy and fun experience.
