Our spa jets on the Community Center side are once again clogged. They discharge water but not air bubbles. Normally you can feel when you attempt to push a stone/cement blockage back that it is a hard object. In this instance, the blockage is where the pipe reduces just prior to entering the pool to increase the water and bubble pressure. The pool tech advises that it feels like gum. He said he can't say for sure, but if he were to place a bet, he would say 90% chance. Complicating this, the Jet nozzles may have been tampered with. The jet nozzles are refusing to move or be removed.
The main goal is to keep the spa open for the remainder of the swim season even though the jets are not fully functional on one side ( 1 of 3 jets working on 1 side). If we attempt to repair it now, it would be closed for potentially several weeks while we attempt to use large amounts of acid to break down the blockage, empty the spa if that does not work and potentially tearing up a portion of the deck or the plaster around the jets. That could potentially lead to a pool closure due to construction that we do not feel is in everyone's best interest. While Wolf Creek does not have rules regarding gum in the pool area: gum is now sticking on the bottom of the big pool surface as well as potentially in the spa jet. Please consider not giving gum to your kids while in the pool area. When swim season is over, we will begin the necessary repairs. Sorry for the inconvenience.
