In addition, per the city's website, California Department of Fish and Wildlife (CDFW) does not remove, trap or put to death coyotes that have taken (killed or attacked) pets. However, when CDFW is notified about a documented attack on a human by a coyote (and physical contact has occurred), the CDFW will serve as the lead agency in the investigation.
